Don't rent here - Will Step All Over Your Tenant Rights
They don't give proper notice to enter your apartment. I received an email after they entered my apartment to change out locks to a new electronic system. I can e home to an open door, lights on that I didn't leave on, and no maintenance supervising outside contractors. Worst part, the locks do not retrofit and I am on day 3 of not being able to secure my apartment door. I was told that management will call me Monday. However, the office is closed on Mondays. I have started the price to press trespassing charges on this that illegally entered my apartment, as well as, those that allowed it. I went to get a suitcase to vacate my apartment to be somewhere safe, and my suitcase is missing... I surely, wouldn't have thrown out a brand new bag. This was not the first time, they entered my apartment without notice. Pay your hard earned money to someone who actually cares.

bad exprience
I had a very bad experience with this apartment community. When I signed my lease, they knowingly placed me in a handicap-accessible unit even though I am not disabled, promising to transfer me to a regular unit when available. That never happened.
After waiting over a year and a half and repeatedly asking, I gave the required 60-day notice to move out. I signed all their paperwork, overpaid rent, and gave my forwarding address expecting my $500 deposit back. Instead, they kept the deposit and billed me $2,426.57 for “breaking the lease.”
This feels deceptive and unfair. Management makes promises they don’t keep and then penalize tenants for it. Renters should be very cautious before signing here.
Property Manager Responded: Hello, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand your concerns. While we were unable to accommodate your requests to remodel your apartment, our records show that notice to terminate the lease was not provided in accordance with the lease terms, resulting in the applicable fees. We value your input and wish you the best moving forward.

Live Elsewhere
It took multiple weeks and follow ups after I initially reported mold to Lenox management and requested a mold test for them to address my concerns. I was told that the testing company would test and clean. The maintenance mngr gave a kit & claimed it was from a certified testing company. I found maintenance had allowed a mold remediation team into my apt unsupervised. When asked, the team said they do cleaning and didn't give the kit. The Lenox used deceptive tactics to wipe evidence of the mold in at least 5 units that I'm aware of. After raising the issue to the VP and regional manager, they apologized and sent an actual mold inspector. To resolve the mold after my vents were cleaned, I was told to keep windows closed & buy dehumidifiers.
At this point, the mgmt company had been made aware of the maintenance manager's unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and incompetency & continued doing nothing to ensure it was resolved. BMC claimed the maintenance manager was spoken to about it, yet he threatened a woman with a fine if she refused the mold cleaning service (after showing up unscheduled and unannounced) since they had not yet tested for the mold, and without Lenox supervision. To another resident, maintenance insisted they were spraying "mold killing paint".
The Lenox and senior leaders at Bernstein Management Company are aware that their staffs grant unauthorized and unsupervised entrance to apartments and the flagrant safety, security, and utterly inexcusable violations continue to occur. I know of multiple units aside from my own where the maintenance team let third party vendors in or gone into the wrong unit unscheduled and unsupervised. This happened to me twice in the span of two weeks. How uninvolved and how many failures have to occur for a third party vendor to perform unsupervised and unauthorized work in an apartment they weren't allowed to be in?
A hole broke in the bathtub, which was heavily rusted, which they re-glazed part of, only for the rust to re-appear one month later. My drain in my bathtub and toilet was constantly clogged and every time I reported it, they sent a maintenance team to do a shoddy job. When I reached out to the VP of property management, it turns out that was also not what should have been done and the VP quickly rectified and sent an actual plumbing team, only they went to the completely wrong unit and had to be sent back to my unit hours after they'd left.
Potential renters who have really tried and wanted to live here. However, the leasing team has made this impossible to the point where my significant other and I couldn't justify us enjoying the floor plan and friendly concierge staff. Through multiple tours, or I should say attempted tours, I have had to wait on the leasing team for over 45 minutes the first time (when the leasing staff pushed back an open house to other potential renters by two hours because they weren't prepared), being told we could have a move-in deal over the phone only to be given conflicting information as we waited in-person, to the most recent attempt at a tour not being booked despite us being in the office with them. We truly wanted to live here and thought it would have been nice to, but the leasing staff's consistent insults combined with the frankly non-existent amenities have made this impossible. We wanted to call Lenox Club our home, but at each and every turn the leasing staff rudely has been making the process as difficult as possible. It is a shame because concierge staff are friendly and helpful, and at multiple times agreed that how leasing was treating us is unacceptable. Live elsewhere- leasing staff has no incentive to help or do anything that would make people want to live here.

What's the point?
I'm only giving this place 2 stars due to the location. It's literally a 5 min. walk to the metro, has a Whole Foods nearby, and the Pentagon City mall nearby! However, management seems very disorganized and just not well run. I scheduled an apartment tour for noon, showed up on time, and found out he had already started a tour with someone else. I waited 45 min. and when he came down from the earlier tour, there was no acknowledgement or apology for keeping me waiting. What was the point of even scheduling an appointment? There was also other tenants waiting for management with issues with their apartments/parking so that really didn't sit well with me as someone looking for an apartment. And the building may look nice in the pictures but it's way different in person. While it does have modern touches, it's barely hiding the fact that it's still a run down building.
Property Manager Responded: Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to post a review for Lenox Club. As you point out, we have a great location and great amenities to offer. Unfortunately, you apparently had a bad visit with us and that is very concerning to me. I would love the opportunity to talk with you about your experience as what you describe does not meet our standards. If you feel up for it, please give me a call at 703-418-0130. I would love to turn your opinion around!
Thank you,
Adriana, Lenox Club Property Manager
